I Living Labs

I Living Labs

An I Living Lab is a course for which you register via your ISP (Individual Study Program). It counts for 6 ECTS. and is available in semester 1 and 2.

But what is it exactly, an I Living Lab?

In an I Living Lab you team up to tackle a challenge. You analyse it and come up with solutions.

The challenge is provide by a challenge owner. That is someone from outside the university, like a business owner, an organisations, a local authority, a civilian ... This means you'll get a real life problem, no theoretical or hypothetical question, and you look for feasible solutions.

An I Living Lab-team

Your team consists of students, coaches and the challenge owner.

Student come from all kinds of programs and different European countries. It is no surprise that all communications will be in English.
The coaches are often lecturers. However, they won't be lecturing during an I Living Lab. They will take on the role of coach and guide and support you during the process.

The challenge owner will gladly assist you when it comes to providing intel concerning the challenge. Of course, he or she wants the best possible solution and therefor will regularly consult with the team.

You'll meet with your team on a regular basis. How often that is depends on the challenge you chose.

Why should I do an I Living Lab?

We can give you thousands of reasons to go for an I Living Lab: you'll learn to work in team, meet people from different cultures, work on your future skills, learn to think creatively and to work through Design Thinking ...

But what do students from previous I Living Labs say? They recommend it because:

  • you meet students with different backgrounds
  • you practice your English in a safe environment
  • you connect to international partners and companies (aka potential employers ;)

Reason enough to join! Take a look at the possibilities.
